Audrey exemplifies "the power of one."The SLO Beaver Brigade was born when she learned about beavers, became an enthusiast, and decided the best way she could take meaningful climate action was by supporting these environmental powerhouses through community education.  The non-profit organization is  "continually learning from the beavers how to be good stewards of our watersheds and we empower those folks who love our waterways to become stewards themselves."

The SLO Beaver Brigade is dedicated to stewarding wetland health as demonstrated by the beavers. We do so by educating our County on the benefits of beavers to our watersheds; leading educational walks out to beaver ponds; supporting research of beavers and wetlands; organizing river and creek cleanups; educating and installing beaver management tools; and implementing beaver restoration techniques.

Audrey Taub of the SLO Beaver Brigade talks about the beaver population in San Luis Obispo County and how beavers help create and maintain wetlands in the arid west. We'll find out about the newly launched California Process-based Restoration (Cal PBR) Network and the Governor's "Beaver Restoration Proposal" to facilitate  "updated policies and practices that support beaver management and conservation throughout the State." Audrey's passion and expertise are contagious!
